Keep in mind that the number on the scales isn't always the best judge for progress. Sometimes the numbers haven't budged, but your body composition can feel improved. Or sometimes you gain muscle weight, but you look like you've lost weight.
Before you underestimate your progress from your scales' standpoint, check your body fat percentage, how your clothes fit, how strong you've become, your body measurements, and monthly photos. Maybe you've only plateaued when it comes to the scales, but you're transforming in other ways.
If you really feel like your body isn't changing, try answering the following questions honestly:
- Do I consume the right amount of calories?
- Do I weigh individual ingredients?
- Do I drink plenty of water?
- Do I work out as much as I should?
- Am I managing my stress levels?
- Am I getting enough sleep (7–8 hours)?
Any question you answered 'no' is likely to impede your well-being. Make sure to pay more attention to your daily routine and stress levels to achieve the best results.
